Gisela Marta Oliveira is Chemical Engineer (specialized in Bioengineering), post-graduate in
Food Technology, Master in Biomedical Engineering—Biomaterials and Ph.D. in Earth Sciences
(specialized in Geohazards, Gaseous Emissions and Geological Sequestration of CO 2 ). She started
working as a young researcher in plant biotechnology, for seven years, at the Portuguese Catholic
University and since has held several positions as teacher and instructor of mathematics subjects
and engineering technologies courses as well as research manager at University Fernando Pessoa.
Since 2013, she is member of the Coordinating Council of FP-ENAS Research Unit where she
researches on energy, environmental engineering and crosscutting subjects.
Diogo Guedes Vidal holds a Degree and a Master Degree in Sociology (specialized in Sociology
of Territory) from the University of Porto, Portugal. He starts his professional activity during the
development of his master research as collaborator in a research project at Institute of Sociology
of the University of Porto. Between September 2016 and January 2017 he had been sociologist in
a market research company. Since 2017 he is research fellow at Fernando Pessoa Energy, Environment and Health Research Unit (FP-ENAS) in the WeGIx project—Well Being Global Index. Currently he is Ph.D. student in the Doctoral Program in Ecology and Environmental Health (UFP)
with a project dedicated to urban green spaces and its multidimensional benefits. Since 2018 he
is collaborator researcher at Bahiana School of Medicine and Public Health in the research group
“Dynamics of the Neuromusculoskeletal system”.
Lilian Monteiro Ferrari Viterbo holds a degree in Nursing (2000) from the Catholic University
of Salvador and a Master in Health Technologies (2017) from the Bahiana School of Medicine
and Public Health, Brazil. Currently she is Ph.D. Student in Ecology and Environmental Health at
University Fernando Pessoa, Porto, Portugal. She is a specialist in Occupational Nursing from São
Camilo Educational Centre in Brazil, specialist in MBA in Health Management from Fundação
Getúlio Vargas, FGV, Brazil and specialist in Ergonomics from the Fluminense Federal University,
Brazil. She is a professor at Petrobras University. She has been active in the area of Occupational
Health at Petrobras since 2006, especially in Occupational Health Management, developing health
promotion and protection programs, as well as actions to recover and rehabilitate workers’ health.
She has developed projects in the area of Environmental Health and since 2017 is researcher at
FP-ENAS.
Rui Leandro Maia holds a Ph.D. in Sociology and Fundamental Methodologies (2002) and Master Degree in History of Populations (1995) by the University of Minho. He also holds a Degree
in Historical Sciences by the Portucalense University (1988). He is Associate Professor and ESCEFOC Diretor (Surveys and Continuous Training Centre) at Fernando Pessoa University. He is
researcher at FP-ENAS, where he coordinates the WeGIx project, and at CITCEM—Centre for
Transdisciplinary Research “Culture, Space and Memory”. His main research interests are in the
field of Demography, Fertility, Migration, Urban and Environmental Sociology.
