• Water sampling for the laboratory analysis of the conservative elements: major
and trace elements, organic pollutants (COCs), and carbon source
• Microbial strains investigations (incubation in the laboratory) for abundancy,
diversity, pathogens, and activity
• GC for dissolved COCs concentration determination, ion chromatography for
Cl
À ion concentration determination, potentiometric titration for alkalinity, sulfide, and Merck kits
6.5.2.2 Investigation of the Natural Attenuation in the Large Area
By taking advantage of the 12 piezometers (localized in Fig. 6.8a), intensive
sampling was performed by ADEME for water quality analyses between 1999 and
2013. The results were accurately investigated such as to select the most appropriate
location for the in situ implementation of the RCDC pilot and to show the
Fig. 6.8 (a) Geographic location of the polluted site as a large area with the small area of the pilot
implementation included inside and with the distribution of some piezometers at different locations
within the polluted area where sampling was carried out for content analyses between 1999 and
2013. (b) Conceptual scheme of the polluted site
