In addition to spatial fusion, if monitoring in time is considered, then the corresponding 2D + 1 image streams need to be strictly synchronized to allow fusion not
just in space but also in time. Hence, when temporarily fusing image streams, an exact
timer synchronization and proper interrupt reaction times of the two (or more) camera
