higher genetic diversity. However, all these works in Araucaria genus covered the
whole species natural ranges, whereas Argentinean A. angustifolia comprised a
marginal zone at the edges of its natural distribution. In agreement with this, Ferreira
de Souza et al. (2009) reported low to moderate genetic diversity levels of isolated
populations on the northernmost extreme of A. angustifolia distribution in Brazil
(Ht = 0.16).
