research in emerging “omic” technologies involving transcriptomics, metagenomics,
and metatranscriptomics approaches predict discoveries that will unravel plant–endophytes relationships and will strengthen the potential use of endophytes in applied
research. Microbial secretomes and volatiles are also widely investigated. It is estimated that the genomic and metabolic data mining will ultimately provide new
insights into their successful implementation in all the above discussed fields.
