its high fecundity and its aggressivity (Galil et al., 2008) imply that the colonization of
C. sapidus might take place in the near future in the investigated area, with significant
effects on the existing local communities, as already experienced, following the
introduction of Portunus segnis in the Gulf of Gabès.
