Si beaucoup des mécanismes impliqués sont très documentés, les connaissances sur certains autres restent parcellaires, souvent dues à leur récente mise en
évidence. L’organisation et la coordination de la réponse cellulaire restent encore
à documenter compte tenu de la variété des stress possibles. Enfin les mécanismes
moléculaires sous-jacents à certaines réponses cellulaires (effets non ciblés, sénescence) restent à caractériser précisément.
