In order to ascertain the flushing away of the sédiments that is likely
to be deposited near the month, the fall velocity, Vf was calculated for the
mean grain size, D of 0.25 mm based on the relations discussed in Sec. 3.6.
In this way, the fall velocity works out to be 0.1 m/s. This is extremely
small compared to the velocity in the river Cheruvathur.
