The required reports were finally completed in 2012. They were
therefore already on the table when Dr. Susanne Schorcht took
up her work for wpd offshore solutions in Bremen in April 2013.
On her business card it says "Permit Manager Offshore" as she
is the main responsible person for questions of approval in connection with wpd's offshore projects. As well as environmental
questions, she also deals with approvals for the entire design,
operation of the helicopter landing pad, the subject of émissions and waste concepts, dismantling guarantees as well as the
protection and safety concept. The self-professed 'pragmatic
microbiologist bows to no-one in her knowledge of ecological issues in connection with offshore wind energy; before joining wpd
she spent almost a decade dealing with the approval procedure
for offshore wind farms. "As well as having other tasks, I am the
interface between the ecologists working for us and the approval
authorities", she States, explaining her rôle before and during the
construction phase.
The third year of investigations confirmed the data collected in
earlier years. As a resuit, the BSH raised no more objections and
gave the green light for the construction of Butendiek. But nevertheless with strict noise restrictions.
