Marine lipids
detritic particles either from higher plants or from sewage effluents, are
not ingested. Bacteria which develop on detriric particles do nor seem
to be a significant food source. Copepods seem ro choice phytoplankton
cells as well as shrimps seem to choice copepods. However, if the nutritional interest is probably an important factor, the size range may be
predominant for some particles, especially those of terrestrial and of
sewage origins. Finally, the importance of the different food sources
may vary in function of the season.
