the gametogenetic stages (from gonia to mature gametes) occurred in
females and males (fig. 4), suggesting continuous gametogenesis.
Moreover, the histological sections showed that both the oocytes and
spermatozoa were small-sized cells, as also mentioned for shallow-water
mytilids.
