luminescence nycthemeral cycle and photoinhibition has never been
observed yet on copepods.
Conclusion
In addition to fluorescence, bioluminescence measurements emerge as a
very interesting tool in the study of plankton distribution. Considering
the diversity of bioluminescent organisms, complementary informations such as nycthemeral variations, pigment analyses and plankton
samples are very useful. Further investigation on bioluminescence
should take them into account.
