Iles Crozet. Lying 600 miles (960 km) east of Marion, this archipelago
consists of two groups of amall volcanic islands 100 miles (160 km) apart.
Topographically and botanically they resemble Marion; climatically they
may be slightly warmer, due to their greater distance from the Weddell
Sea current and its accompanying cold air. King, Gentoo and Rockhopper penguins are numerous in characteristic breeding sites; Macaronis
