vitelline mass. The progressive destruction of the enveloping layer is
related to this particular aspect of invagination (see the conditions
created by the phenomena of adhesivity, Devillers, 1955).
Many similarities, some still hypothetical, can be established between
the dynamics of development of Teleosts and Amphibia. An extensive
study of these phenomena on the different types of eggs existing in these
two vertebrate groups would certainly make it possible to carry the
comparison still further.
