H. P. R. SEELIGER AND K. HOHNE
Pure H-antisera are produced by absorption of OH-antisera with
homologous 0-antigen.
Kunkel and Naumann reported in 1974 on the preparation of a pure
H-antigen by adsorbing Listeriu flagella to latex particles. Their efforts
did not result in an agglutination between the flagella-latex-mixture and
the H-antisera.
D. Production of factor sera
Factor sera may be produced with strains selected and recommended by
Seeliger and Donker-Voet (see Table 111) which are available from the
National Collection of Type Cultures London, The ATCC, Rockville,
Md., US4, and the Listeria Culture Collection of the Institute for Hygiene
and Microbiology, Wiirzburg, FRG. The procedure for obtaining factor
sera by CASTELLANI’s absorption test is outlined on Table V.
