The present study was made to better understand the impact of these port structures on the
evolution of this area by relying on numerical modeling for the simulation of wave refraction,
the current field, and sedimentary transport. for both cases, before and after the implantation
of these. Several parameters can be at the origin of these phenomena of silting and erosion,
the particular submarine morphology of the region explains the strong hydrodynamic activity
due to the swell of the North-West sector which thus makes the mobilization of the
sedimentary stocks easy and subsequently contribute to the silting of the harbor and the
erosion of the adjacent West beach.
Keywords: Cape Djinet, siltation, sedimentary transport, , coastline, modeling, erosion,
refraction,swell, sediment, port structures.
