Abstract
The subject of this study focuses on the identification of the Mellah lagoon benthos (36 ° 54
'N -8 ° 20'E) during a study period May 2017 and May 2018, except for the annelids group,
to arrive at an updated taxonomic inventory of fauna and flora at this lake, as well as the
study of the population structure and growth of Loripes lacteus, Cerastoderma glaucum,
Rudipatesse decussatus and Carcinus aestuarii.
The Mellah Lake benthos inventory for the two months of May (2017/2018) revealed the
presence of 47 species (40 faunistic and 7 floristic). The collection sites at lake Mellah
shows a good structure (H = 2.96, E = 0.74). Mellah Lake provides optimal conditions that
favor the population structure and the growth of the species studied.

Résumé
Le sujet de la présente étude se focalise sur l’étude du compartiment benthique de la lagune
Mellah (36°54’ N -8°20’E) durant une période d’étude Mai 2017 et Mai 2018, pour aboutir à
un inventaire taxonomique actualisé de la faune et de la flore au niveau de ce lac, ainsi que
l’étude de la structure démographique et croissance de de Loripes lacteus, Cerastoderma
glaucum, Ruditapes decussatus et Carcinus aestuarii.
L’inventaire du benthos du lac Mellah pour les deux mois de Mai (2017/2018) a révélé la
présence de 47espèces (40 faunistique et 7 floristiques). L’ensemble des sites du
prélèvement au niveau du lac Mellah montre une bonne structure ( H’=2.96, E=0.74).
Le lac Mellah assure des conditions optimales qui favorisent la structure des populations
et la croissance des espèces étudiées.
