L'indice d'urbanisation par différence normalisé (NDBI) utilise les canaux NIR et
SWIR pour mettre en évidence les agglomérations. Cet indice basé sur les ratios
permet d'atténuer les effets des différences d'éclairage du terrain ainsi que les effets
atmosphériques (Zha and Gao, 2003).
