Résume :
La région ouest algéroise se présente comme un système côtier très diversifié et donne lieu à un
conflit constant entre " pressions anthropique "et " la fragilité environnementale " de ces côtes.
Elle est sujette à une urbanisation intensive qui est déroulée en plusieurs épisodes pendant la
période d’étude et s’est faite progressivement au détriment de nombreux espaces dunaires.
De ce fait un suivi multi-temporel de l’espace côtier de la région « Alger ouest », a permis d’établir
un diagnostic des éventuels liens de cause-à-effet et des corrélations entre urbanisation intensive,
la destruction des espaces dunaires et la disparition des plages dans la même période.
Ceci permettra une meilleure compréhension du géosystème côtier ouest algérois et une aide à la
prise de décision en matière de protection côtière pour le futur dans la région.

Abstract:
The western region of Algeria is a very diverse coastal system and gives rise to a constant conflict
between "anthropic pressure" and "environmental fragility" of these coasts.
It is subject to an intensive urbanization that took place in several episodes during the period of
study and was made gradually to the detriment of many dune areas.
Therefore, a multi-temporal monitoring of the coastal space of the region "Algiers west", allowed
to establish a diagnosis of the possible links of cause and effect and correlations between intensive
urbanization, the destruction of dune spaces and the disappearance of beaches in the same period.
This will allow a better understanding of the coastal geosystem of western Algeria and will help
in the decision-making process for future coastal protection in the region.
