look at Figure 12.8a indicates that some FD values appeared to be more comparable at
certain aggregation levels between images acquired by varying sensors, for instance,
those at 480 m for the MSS, ETM+, and ASTER data sets and those at 30–120 m for
all image subscenes.
To facilitate the interpretation, a distance analysis was performed with a chi-square
statistic using SPSS. This method allowed the creation of a dissimilarity matrix that
could be used to determine how FDs calculated from the original and resampled
images for a given data set were different from each other. The analytical results were
reported in Tables 12.4 and 12.5. Overall, the results calculated from the whole image
