Bellan-Santini and Ledoyer, 1974: p. 654, pl. 8Thurston, 1974: p. 29.
Body length -
juveniles: 2.8-3.7 mm (4 specimens)
Juvenile. 1st and 2nd segments of the peduncle of
the antennulae subequal in length, bearing several teeth distally. 1st and 2nd pair of gnathopods subequal; relative proportions of articles
and spinulation along palmar edge of propod of
2nd gnathopod as in figure. Basis of legs 5-7denticulated. Profile of metasome with sharp
tooth on 1st and 2nd segments. 3rd epimeral
plate with infero-posterior corner; posterior
border distinctly toothed. Cleft on telson slightly
exceeding 1/3 oflength.
Family Eusiridae
Remarks

the tooth on the 1st and 2nd metasomal segments, the strongly denticulated epimeral plate
3, the denticulated hasis oflegs 5-7, and the peduncle of the antennulae, the first two articles of
which were equal in length.
Distribution
Bellan-Santini (1972) reports the following distribution for the species: South America, and
Antarctic and sub-Antarctic waters, where it occurs from 0-547 m. In the Straits of Magellan, it
was sampled in very low numbers at St. 21 at the
mouth of the Primera Angostura, where it occurred from the surface to the 40 m depth.
