resolution satellite data (but confined to small image sizes), is seen as a

3.5.5
Civil engineering companies
Here the main customers are commercial engineering companies,
typically with a large size and an international client base. The use of EO is
currently happening in some areas, but the potential is not fully realized.
Areas include route planning, environmental impact assessments of
construction projects, landscape architecture, risk analysis and infrastructure
planning. However, civil engineering projects and their use of EO
information tend to be one-off and site specific in nature; hence the use of
EO is not often recurrent for a particular area.

CONCLUSION
The CEO program has conducted and is conducting number of actions to
collect and analyze requirements to space EO. It has put the emphasis to
sectors which are potential major users of the information derived from
space sensors (e.g., governmental bodies at all levels and industry) but which
are less naturally attracted to space EO than, for instance, the scientific
programs dealing with global issues.
The CEO program follows on the assessment of the requirements by
supporting a large number of demonstration/pilot projects aimed at
establishing space EO as a routine source of information, contributing to
help well identified customers in performing their professional tasks.
These actions have generated and will continue to generate a substantial
documentation, which the CEO makes available to the Remote Sensing
Community, in particular via its information servers, such as INFEO.
