Figs. 7 and 8 illustrate the IS optical scheme complexity, compared to
“simple” pushbroom imagers. In the course of the ESA-ESTEC funded
HRIS development program (see space-borne version design with its huge
baffle and pointing unit), both optics are under development as hardware
units. The spectrometer has been completed and fully tested by our
subcontractor Officine Galileo, and is currently subject of some
improvements. The objective now is to integrate all HRIS breadboards—
