MTF, PSF: Typically, high optical image quality is mandatory; however,
too high demands will narrow down the choice of optics concept (this
has been the case, e.g., for HRIS, for the TMA front optics as well as the
spectrometer optics)
Spectral range: Advanced IS typically call for wide band ranges such as
this suggests a preference for all-reflective optics plus
dedicated coatings. Some IS also provide discrete MIR and TIR
channels. Technically, a pushbroom IS covering the region
could also be tuned for MIR and TIR ranges, yet the majority of
applications tends to require VNIR and SWIR
Spectral resolution/spectral sampling interval and its variation: Typical
values for pushbroom IS are 5–10 nm. For wide band IS from VNIR to
SWIR, uniform
would require grating dispersers. These, on the other
