coastal environments. Continued incorporation of these technologies within integrated
coastal management programs will not occur passively and requires demonstration that
the data provide accurate, useful, timely, and cost effective information that meets the
needs of management agencies. Careful application of the framework suggested in this
chapter, along with cultivation of cooperative relationships with management agencies,
should enable this to occur.
