technology, its logistics and operational costs only allow cephalopods to be cultured
for their use as animal models in the laboratory. Nonetheless, there are some species
which might be on the verge for mass commercial culture in the coming 5–10 years.
This information is presented in detail for a given species in the next chapters by
researchers who have been trying to solve these limitations since 2000.
