Sibnarayanpur Anua
Sibnarayanpur Anua (Plate 20.35b , Fig. 20.17 ) is
an oxbow wetland which is situated at a distance
of c 32 km from Silchar City. It lies within
Katigorah Revenue Circle in Cachar District of
Assam. It has a L, B and A of c 1.7 km, 0.7 km
and 53 ha, respectively. The catchment soil is
mostly loamy. At present, it seems to have a connection with River Banaimulla. Riparian vegetation is scanty. Riparian land use pattern involves
habitation and fi shing.
