In this procedure, the fish samples (spiked with an isotopic marker compound) are
processed as shown in Fig. 7.4. Table 7.l3 shows some recovery data obtained by this
procedure for various polychlorinated-dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDD) and polychlorinated dibenzo furans (PCDF) spiked into fish samples. These results demonstrate the
effectiveness of recovery of a large proportion of these compounds, especially those
tetra-, penta-, and hexachloro isomers possessing the critical 2,3,7,8 chlorine substitution pattern (Column (a), Table 7.13). The reduced precision for tetrachloro-dibenzoTable 7.14
