210
27, 20, 11 and 02 individuals, each. The species that had the largest variation in the
number of individuals per group was S. clymene, 01 to 100 individuals. S. guianensis and T. truncatus were the species that had the most variation in the number of
individuals per group after S. clymene, with 01 to 35 and 01 to 30 individuals,
respectively. The only species that was recorded in all the years of the study was
T. truncatus, followed by S. guianensis and S.bredanensis that were not present in
2 years of the study. S. clymene was present in only 2 years of study (2001 and
2003). P. electra and S. frontalis were only sighted in the year 2004, and F. attenuata
in the year 2006 (Table 8.1).
Depth logging ranged from 4 to 200 m. The species recorded in greater depth
was F. attenuata (200 m), followed by T. truncatus (150 m). The lowest depth record
was recorded for S. guianensis (4 m), but the species was also sighted in 60 m deep
sites. P. electra and S. frontalis, both with a single record, were sighted at 150 and
51 m depth, respectively.
The state of the sea ranged from 0 to 5 (Beaufort scale). F. attenuata, P. electra
and S. frontalis were only recorded on scale 1. T. truncatus was recorded on scales
of 0 to 4 and S. guianensis on scales from 0 to 3. S. bredanensis was recorded on
scales of 1–5 and S. clymene on scales of 2–4.
The intensity of the wind ranged from 3 (S. guianensis) to 16 knots (S. bredanensis and P. electra). T. truncatus was sighted with winds of 5–15 knots. F. attenuata,
S. frontalis and P. Electra in winds of 8, 9 and 16 knots, respectively. The intensity
of the wind ranged from 3 (S. guianensis) to 16 knots (S. bredanensis and P. electra).
T. truncatus was sighted with winds of 5–15 knots. F. attenuata, S. frontalis and
P. Electra in winds of 8, 9 and 16 knots, respectively. All these data is shown on the
Table 8.2.
