tion of the species. However, the average number of specimens per unit haul is about
the same for both periods. The 2 seasons have maximum density of S. enflata towards
the western part of the Arabian Sea off Somalia and Kenya. During the NE monsoon
low values extended along the southern part and in the SW monsoon low density spreads
uniformly from the SE part towards the Indian coast.
8. Sagitta ferox (DONCASTER, 1903)
(Figs. 7 a and 7b)
Fairly common in the Arabian Sea. They constitute about 0-31.0% of the total
chaetognaths in the sample. This species shows a higher density along the Equator. The
