permanent plot is located at the base of a steep NW-facing slope, and has two
zones of different slope: the lower part is relatively level (mean slope 7°) and
the upper part is steeper (mean 23°). At Figar6 the bedrock is phyllite,
schists, and granodiorite. The sampling plots lie on steep slopes (mean between 20 and 36°) of widely different aspect.
