which is the continuation of the Guyana Current flowing towards the northwest along the coast of northern Brazil and the Guyanas. The Caribbean
Current consists of a number of dynamic westward propagating anticyclonic and cyclonic eddies, which develop as the flow crosses the Lesser Antilles (Murphy et al.l999). The anticyclonic eddies propagate along the northern half of the Caribbean basin, whereas cyclonic eddies are confined to
the north coast of Soth America; the southwestern Caribbean gulf
