logic and language, there are only objects and subjects but no specific designation exists for image and thought. The need for them becomes especially apparent
when we have discuss the nature of models. A model is an "as if object"
created in imagination and thought. This Pygmalion, our creation, is then
repeatedly mirrored and reflected - with the aid of observation and measurement-within the complexity of our own organization until it becomes alive
as an "as if subject" at the highest level of resolution of our own nature (which
we call physical reality). Thus we, the system, were modeling another
system until the model became real; so real that at the moment of understanding we could exclaim (when talking to this formerly iconic model): "Ich bin
im Bilde" (1 am in the picture, i. e. in the image).
LOCKER:
You correctly touch upon the crucial point that the so-called objective being
can only be attained within the medium of awareness. Models thus constitute
an attempt at unifying subjective thinking and objective being.
