rate during this oxygen isotope stage is highly uncertain. As the fluxes of nOTh ex are close to
the expected production flux, we can exclude that thc lOBe fluxes were distorted by processes
of sediment redistribution or enhanced scavenging. The depositional lOBe-fluxes of the cores
PM 9482-1, PM 9463-8, PM 9462-1 and PS 2471-4 (oxygen isotope stage 3) are presented im
Figure 11. The conclusion from the rather low lOBe flux on the continental slope is that only a
smaller part of the terri genic lOBe finds its way to the Arctic Ocean.
