nonlabeled substrate can be (i) mixed with the labeled material in such a way that added,ul
amounts (Procedures, Section 3) contain final substrate concentrations of 10 to 500,ug/1
when diluted with the water sample, or (ii) a constant amount oflabeled substrate is added
to each flask and supplemented with increasing concentrations of nonlabeled substrate.
When the latter method is used, several stock solutions of increasing concentrations
should be prepared so that a constant volume of substrate is added to each flask.
