be expected. But it is large enough for basic studies in ecology , bio-hydrology, and
preliminary studies of air-sea coupling over the Mediterranean Sea eddies.
Both land surface and ecological process may not have profound impact on the
atmosphere or ocean (though there are some coupling effects with the former), but
the "coupled calculations" with the atmospheric processes or the oceanic processes
are necessary in the "real time", because the ecological and soil models require all
the information that the atmospheric or oceanic model produces temporally as well
as three-dimensionally. Archiving all this information is not practical due to its
immense volume.
