Another variant of additive nomenclature, where the increase of chain or
ring links by one CH2 unit is indicated by the prefix homo, finds application mainly for steroid names (see Table 22, p.200) but also for
certain trivially named compound types.

Likewise restricted mainly to natural products (but with some foreseeable
potential also for simpler compound types) is the use of seeo for indicating ring cleavage with concomitant addition of two hydrogen atoms to the
carbon atoms involved.
