A characteristic of a method (CMP) defined as its
ability to preserve its accuracy and precision over
time. Related to robustness and transferability
(Chap. 2, p. 85).
The proportion of correct identifications in individual qualitative tests performed on aliquots of the
same sample.
A capital property in Qualitative Analysis that combines accuracy and precision, and is used as an
attribute of the binary response (Chap. 5, pp. 208,
210-213,216,217,222,230,231,240,241).
A manner of expressing precision. Defined by ISO as
"the dispersion of the results for mutually independent tests using the same method as applied to
aliquots of the same sample, at the same laboratory,
by the same operator, using the same equipment over
a short interval of time:' (Chap. 2, pp. 60-62, 88, 94).
S. "Sample".
A capital analytical property related to consistency
between the results, the samples received, the object,
the analytical problem and the social or economic
problem (Chap. 2, pp. 40, 42, 46, 52, 54 - 56,76,77,88,
89).
A manner of expressing precision. Defined by ISO as
"the dispersion of the results for mutually independent tests performed by applying the same method to
aliquots of the same sample under different conditions: different operators, different equipment or different laboratories:' (Chap. 2, pp. 60 - 62,88,94,95).
An analytical property of a eMP that reflects its
resistance to slight changes in the experimental conditions under which it is performed (Chap. 2, pp.
84-86,89).
An attribute of a laboratory or CMP related to
hazards to human health and/or the environment
(Chap. 2, pp. 40, 75, 85, 89).
A part (aliquot) of an object that contains the
analyte. Third level in the hierarchy of Fig. 1.18. Possesses a broad range of variants (Chap. 1, pp. 5,8, 11,
14,21-24,26,28-33,35,36; Chap. 4, pp. 144-153,
155-163,165-168,170,172,174,176,177,179-189,
191-194,196-199; Fig. 4.11).
Black sample. A sample the composition of which is
completely unknown (Chap. 5,pp. 202, 217, 240).
Blind sample. A sample of well-defined composition
that is interspersed for quality control purposes with
