application schema
conceptual schema for data required by one or more applications (IS034 2002)
NOTE
An application schema describes the content, the structure and the
constraints applicable to information in a specific application domain.
attitude
orientation of a body, described by the angles between the axes of that body's coordinate system and the axes of an extemal co ordinate system (lS048 2002)
NOTE
In positioning services, this is usually the orientation of the user's
platform, such as an aircraft, boat, or automobile.
bag
finite, unordered collection of related items (obj ects or values) that may be repeated
(lS0392003)
NOTE
Logically, a bag is a set ofpairs .
base standard
ISO geographie information standard or other Information Technology standards that
can be used as a source from which a profile may be constructed (IS034 2002)
basic test
initial capability test intended to identity c1ear cases of non-conformance (lS037
2000)
boundary
set that represents the limit of an entity (lS039 2003)
NOTE
Boundary is most commonly used in the context of geometry,

buffer
geometrie object that contains all direct positions whose distance from a specified
geometrie object is less than or equal to a given distance (IS039 2003)
calendar
discrete temporal reference system that provides a basis for defining temporal position to aresolution of one day (lS040 2002)
calendar era
sequence of periods of one of the types used in a calendar, counted from a specified
event (IS040 2002)
capability test
test designed to determine whether an IUT conforms to a particular characteristic of
