NAS Operations provide means for standardised client server communication in
business processes of cadastral and surveying authorities and their information exchange with e.g. consultant surveying engineers and customers of cadastral and topographie map and/or feature data. Products comprise XML encoded feature datasets
i.e. feature datasets to perform regular updates of feature data stored at customer
sites, map datasets including cartographic presentation data together with feature
data, authoritative reports i.e. change reports of legal relevance to land ownership,
and other authoritative documents required by customers. Specific NAS Operations
allow consultant surveying engineers, authorized to perform cadastral surveying
tasks, to send feature data updates to AFIS-ALKIS-A TKIS data server located at cadastral and surveying agencies.
ISO/TC211 and OGC have identified the need to harmonize ISO 19118 (Encoding) and GML 3.0 and due to significance ofharmonisation for long-term success of
XML based interoperability of GIS applications Iike German cadastral and topographie information systems AFIS-ALKIS-ATKIS German DIN members play an
important role In resolving issues related to ISO 19136 (Geography Markup Language).
