In 1995, CEOS established the W orking Group on Information
Systems and Services (WGISS). It addresses the issues of capture,
description, processing, access, retrieval, utilisation, maintenance
and exchange of spaceborne EO data and supporting information,
enabling improved interoperability and interconnectivity of information systems and services.
• To enable EO data and information services to be more accessible and usable to data providers and data users worldwide
through international coordination.
• To enhance the complementarity, interoperability and standardisation of EO data and information management and services.
• To foster the easier exchange of EO data and information
through networks and other means.

Digital Geographie Information Exchange Standard
(DIGEST)
DGIWG represents the experts on digital geographie information in the military
agencies primarily ofthe NATO countries. It maintains the DIGEST geographie data
exchange standard for vector data, raster data, and topological information.
