Access to Marine Data on the Internet for CZM
577
Educate people in the current and future technologies
Develop a new attitude and perspective on technology, data and information
needs and availability (different world with different technology)
Develop an holistic view of the coast which requires integration of data and
information held by many disparate organisations
Recognise that 'piecemeal solutions' do not work
Provide practical and operational solutions to access to, and use and
communication of both data and information in the workplace
Moreover we need to:
Reach the people in the UK Government who have the vision, the influence,
and the decision-making power to make things happen, and not those who
do not
Perhaps the new millennium will see the electronic information age become a reality for
Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM).
