fjords and bays, particularly along the perimeter of the larger Trepassey and St. Mary's
Bays, many of which are closed by coarse clastic bayhead barrier beaches. Headlands
comprise steep to vertical, high bedrock cliffs and steep, high, eroding unconsolidated
cliffs; both often fronted by irregular bedrock outcrops up to 10 m in height. Between
the headland and the barrier, steep, high (> 10 m), eroding or partially stabilized
unconsolidated cliffs, often fronted by low (< 5 m), irregular bedrock outcrops,
predominate.
