Data Requirements for Coastal Management
At a conceptual level the data needs for coastal management have been identified by
Scura et al. (1992) in Table 1. At the country level, the information needs for coastal
management will need to be determined by those that have vested interests in the
coastal areas. Although there are needs common to all Pacific island countries, the
data requirements of particular countries will vary according to the scope and extent of
the problems to be addressed.
