Abstract
This thesis presents a synthesis of the hydrodynamic knowledges produced as part of a
study based on the problematic set by "DP Word El-Djazaïr" which concerns a loss of
performance owing to meteorological phenomena and port agitation.
The research aims to determine the degree of agitation in the port of Algiers, and to define
a suitable solution that ensures an acceptable agitation in order to achieve a better conduct of
operations which conforms with the criteria of secure operation of the dockside.
It is possible to propose a dredging solution for the access channel of the port and Mustafa
Basin based on the existing analysed data, due to the fact that the latter validates its fundamental
role for the development of the port, as well as reduces strains at the different terminals. This
will be a strategic step that will improve the economic growth and the performance of the Port
of Algiers for the numerous conditions of activity on the quay.
