these are two very important aspects of ECd as a non-degrading method of fast
conformational analysis of proteins and nucleic acids. What is more, a short time of
a Cd measurement makes it a suitable tool for time-dependent studies. Electronic
Cd and CPL are particularly valuable when the structure of a biomolecule changes
in time because of external stimulus (change of solvent, temperature, or complex
formation). this makes Cd an important tool in drug discovery (when the stimulus is a pharmacologically active molecule), and investigations of such structural
changes as protein denaturation, amyloid formation, or dNA melting.
