electric field—characterized by a diminishing velocity (Persano-Adorno et al.
2015a). This result astonished students, who almost certainly expected to find the
well-known ohmic behavior. The professors stimulated the learners to questioning
about this phenomenon, with the purpose to identify the physical explanation of the
observed reduction of the electron drift velocity.
