12 Integration and Assembly Technology of Lunar Lander
are applied to design the assembly process and plan the assembly process, so as
to establish a feasible and optimized assembly process to guide practical assembly
manufacture. The assembly simulation centered on process planning includes the
planning of assembly sequence, the planning of assembly path and the formulation
of process approach. In the assembly simulation centered on process planning, the
focus is the fidelity of operation simulation, which is reflected in the highly accurate
product model in assembly simulation, exactly the same operation process as practical
manufacture, and the highly consistent tool with tool model in practical operation.
Through assembly simulation, the feasibility of process design and process approach
can be accurately evaluated.
During the process design of the Chang’E-3 lunar lander, in order to evaluate the
assembly sequence of the tanks and the engines, the lunar rover and solar panels of the
lunar lander, the digital assembly simulation technology was applied to analyze and
evaluate the interference and operation accessibility of assembly process in different
assembly sequence to formulate a safe and reliable assembly approach.
3. Assembly Simulation Centered on Ergonomics Analysis
For complex operations and steps in assembly, through the introduction of threedimensional human body model, dynamic simulation of assembly, operation and
maintenance is conducted in a virtual environment, and the attitude and burden of
the operator under such environment are analyzed, so as to verify the visibility,
accessibility and operability of the assembly operation. At the same time, in term of
ergonomics, the human attitude is evaluated and improved, or propose improvements
to process assembly solutions.
For the difficult implementation of key components such as large engine, tanks
and high-temperature heat shield of the Chang’E-3 lunar lander, simulation analysis
of the safety, force-measuring space, and operation accessibility of such component
assembly operations was conducted, so as to verify the feasibility of assembly process
solution [16]. It is shown in Fig. 12.7 for the assembly simulation of 7500 N engine
of the Chang’E-3 lunar lander.
