telemetry/telecommand and telecommunication links, there was another communication link between the lunar lander and the lunar rover, which was applied to
receive the engineering telemetry and payload data of the lunar rover so as to serve
as a backup of the direct downlink to ground.
During launch phase, the lunar lander-ground telemetry and telecommand channel
was established. During Lunar Transfer phase after separation with launch vehicle to
arriving at the perilune, the telemetry and telecommand was implemented when the
lunar lander was accessed by the deep space network and the lunar lander could not
be accessed by the deep space network. When the lunar lander could not be accessed
by the deep space network, it was implemented by ground stations of non-deep space
network.
After the lunar lander arrived at the perilune, it was still necessary to maintain
the telemetry and telecommand channel during LOI until the lunar lander entered
circumlunar orbit. When the lunar lander was above the landing area and could
be accessed by the deep space network, the powered descent was initiated. The
telecommunication channels were established for the ground stations to monitor and
receive images acquired by the lunar lander during powered descent.
After the lunar lander was landed, the rover was deployed. There were ground
telemetry/telecommand and telecommunication channels both for the lunar lander
