engines will only ever fire at very high altitude, they can all be optimized to produce maximum thrust in near-vacuum conditions, like the engines of upper stages
of conventional rockets. This allows lower combustion chamber pressures. The
elimination of turbopumps for propellant permits a simple pressure-fed design
that substantially reduces cost and complexity. The combustion chambers for the
Teide 1 engines are 3D printed by the Andalusian Foundation for Aerospace
Development.
